For the month of November, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) is holding the “MCAD Film Screenings” at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, School of Design and Arts. They’re screening a selection of animated films that we’d describe as “trippy” or for lack of better word “artsy” af, and all for free. Showing four animated films in total, they’ll be screening each movie two times per day, on given days, with the first screening at 12pm and the second screening at 3pm. And as mentioned, entrance is free for all. Just make sure to bring an ID to drop off at the lobby if you’re not a CSB student.
Fantastic Planet (1973)
“Slaves and masters dominate the narrative of the faraway world of Ygam. Oppressed humanoids rebel against their machine-like leaders. In the end, are the two species willing to learn how to coexist?”

Yellow Submarine (1968)
“When the music hating Blue Meanies take over Pepperland and freeze everyone within it, Captain Fred and his Yellow Submarine recruit The Beatles to help save the day.”

A Cat in Paris (2010)
“A pet cat named Dino leads a double life. During the day he lives with a little girl called Zoe. While at night, he is a companion to the cat burglar, Nico. One night, Zoe decided to follow Dino and see where he runs off to and is captured by a gangster. Nico and Dino must now team up to save Zoe.”

Miss Hokusai (2016)
“The film follows the life of Hokusai’s daughter O-Ei as she works in her father’s studio, struggles to make a name for herself, and escape his authority.”
Dates: Nov. 24, 25, & 29
MCAD Film Screenings will be held at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, School of Design until Nov. 29, 2017. Admission is free for all.
