Get your items infested by Garapata with live silk screening at Art In The Park 2020

If you traverse the roads of the metro enough, you’re bound to see signs of infestation by Garapata. The artist takes over spaces with his stout, wide-eyed creations through stickers, illustrations, Instagram filters—and also your own things, if you’re willing enough.

At Art In The Park 2020, Garapata will be setting up the Garapata Hatchery, a hub where you can join in on the infestation and bring home a unique piece for yourself.

Garapata will have a live silk screening station at his corner, and all you’d have to do is bring an item with a flat surface—a shirt or a tote bag would work great—and leave the rest to him. “You can bring with you this quirky, transforming, expressive, omnipresent personality,” says the artist.

At the Hatchery, there will also be a visual art exhibit featuring works based on personal narratives of the artist, who’s actual name is Dex Fernandez. Feel free to decode the work or give in and talk to the artist himself. (He won’t bite, we’ve confirmed that.)

So, ready to bring home some garapata for yourself? Then head over to the Jaime Velasquez Park at Salcedo Village, Makati on Mar. 15 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
