Dear capitalist society, Britney Spears wants to ‘redistribute wealth’

Britney Spears is a woman of all trades, and we’re not only referring to her alter ego as an artist. Not only is she an icon of ’90s kids who have “Oops!…I Did It Again” stuck in their heads 20 years later, but a champion of the proletariat, the chosen scion of Karl Marx himself. Okay, an overstatement, but take a look at what Britney recently shared.

On an Instagram post, the singer made waves for a post that seemed like your usual message of positivity from influencer no. 1432. But nope, Britney Spears flipped the switch and said, “eat the rich” (our words, not hers).

Communion goes beyond walls ???

“During this time of isolation, we need connection now more than ever,” the post begins. “Call your loved ones, write virtual love letters. Technologies like virtual communication, streaming and broadcasting are part of our community collaboration. We will learn to kiss and hold each other through the waves of the web.”

Innocuous enough, but the post takes a turn into a blunt call-to-action and one with some particularly “socialist implications.” “We will feed each other, re-destribute (sic) wealth, strike.”

Strong words, but it should be noted that they didn’t come straight out of Britney’s mouth—the photo is a repost of Mimi Zhu’s mini essay, who has a collection of these prosodic pieces on their profile. However, Britney did caption her post with “Communion goes beyond walls” with three red roses. And what does a red rose stand for? That’s right, the socialist agenda.

This isn’t the first time Britney has distinguished herself out of the “Imagine” celebrity crowd. The singer has recently opened her DM box for anyone who needs donations. Cheers to non-toxic behavior.
