Is graphic design your passion? Are you tired of the same old fonts in your Photoshop rotation? Want to #SupportLocal? Ding ding ding, kiddo—you’re in luck. A graphic design community has just released a bunch of locally-made fonts, all free for the taking.
Uno Graphiko, spearheaded by freelance designer Nabbe Francisco, has unveiled its curated collection of Filipino-made fonts that you can download for free. The recently released second selection includes typefaces like the blocky student-esque “Hayskul” and the signage-inspired “LL Karatula.” All fonts are inspired by different facets of Filipino culture, including Bukidnon beadwork in “Lumad Free,” jeepney signs in “Dagsen Free” and Manila street life in “Panata Blackletter.”
This collection is a follow-up to Uno Graphika’s first mix of fonts released late last year, which is still available for download. While they’re all free to use, commercial licenses may be different for each font.
