Oh no, Timezone is selling their games right now

Just like everyone else, the arcade will always be my go-to spot.

There have been too many post-grade school Christmas party hangs, drunken dates, Tekken tournaments with friends and just general fun at arcades. So of course, places like Timezone have a special place in my heart. It’s what makes malls worth going to.

But quarantine has been hitting amusement places hard. Of course, arcades are not an exception. That’s why when Timezone announced some of their units are up for selling—I can’t help but feel a certain way.

On Sept. 11, the video arcade institution announced they’re getting rid of their game machines. Folks can take home the Air Hockey and the infamous Hotshot machines for not-so-cheap prices. According to their announcement, there are other game machines for sale, too. You just need to make an inquiry.

Obviously, we’re broke AF and cannot buy arcade games willy-nilly. It got my mind reeling though. Is this an end of an era? Or maybe they’re just trying to earn when the amusement industry is at a standstill?

Anyway, if you’re a rich kid or have a sugar daddy, this might be of interest to you. I just wish this doesn’t mean what I think it means. I would very much like to go back to arcades after the plague is over.

Video game consoles and mobile emulators cannot give me the satisfaction of arcade fighting games. So please, please, arcade industry remain strong.

Also, if there are any sugar daddies out there willing to buy me a Tekken 7 game machine, feel free to hit me up.
