Is love soft as an easy chair? Or could this love protect me from the pain? Filipino Lady Gaga fans have probably been asking themselves the same question since last week. ICYMI, Mother Monster herself has dropped the first single from her upcoming album. And it was everything (as per usual).
Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love” is talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, and totally unique. But this single has officially reached Pinoy pop culture god-tier levels once it was remixed with Y2K rap legends—Salbakutah.
Nectar and The Palace’s resident DJ Brian Cua dropped this remix yesterday. At first, we thought it was a mere flex of wit when he united these two bops. But if we’re being honest, this might be the rise of an entirely new dancefloor anthem.
Upon posting this remix on his Facebook page, he wrote: “You are not ready for this.” He could never be more right. I quote a comment from the DJ’s post—This was bound to happen and this DJ nailed it.
