“The rap game really struck me this year,” rapper Waiian told us in our last conversation with him at the end of 2019, which you can watch below. Now we get a glimpse of his journey in his new music video.
Released last night, the “Solo Mission” MV shows Waiian traversing an unknown jungle. He gets stuck in a tree, wades through a river, and, in cartoon form, runs from a giant explosion.

“Time to create / Separate the weight / Pulling you down / Like doubt and hate” Waiian raps. The song speaks to folks who are trying to make it through life one day at a time. We all have our own solo missions, but not everyone can spit bars about it the way Waiian can.
