Elliot Page is (and has always been) the internet’s boyfriend

For those of us who live in another hemisphere, good mornin’ to you, but most especially, Elliot Page. The actor, known as Vanya Hagreeves of “The Umbrella Academy” and Juno of “Juno,” has recently shared that he is trans.

Elliot shared the open letter on Instagram and Twitter last night. “Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” he writes. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.”

“I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive. To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”

Elliot’s “The Umbrella Academy” co-stars were quick to show their support.

“Welcome to the fam, Elliot,” Justin H. Min, who plays Elliot’s brother in the show, says in a Twitter post.

“Yes,” David Castañeda (a.k.a. Diego Hargreeves) writes, pairing it with two star emojis.

“So proud of our superhero!” the official “Umbrella Academy” account says. “WE LOVE YOU ELLIOT!!!”

According to sources, Netflix is already in the process of changing Elliot’s credits across the streaming site’s metadata in all the titles he’s involved in, be it “Inception” or “X-Men.” Several LGBTQ+ organizations have also urged the public and the media to stop deadnaming the actor.

We echo the sentiments of most of the Twitter ’verse today—Congrats, king.
