PSA: 100 Antipolo doggos are looking for a new home

These abandoned dogs from Antipolo need our help to give them a new home.

On Nov. 24, Mayor Jun Ynares posted a call-to-action on his Facebook page. He’s encouraging fur parents out there to adopt stray dogs from the city’s local pound. So far, a lot of folks went and got themselves a new best friend. But there are more doggos out there looking for a new family.

“Maraming salamat po sa mga nag-ampon ng mga napabayaang aso. Magkakaroon na sila ng mga bago at responsableng tagapag-alaga,” writes the Mayor. “Sa mga interesadong mag adopt, magtungo lamang po sa ating [Antipolo] City Legal Office sa third floor ng City Hall Building.”

(Thank you so much for adopting our stray dogs. We’re glad they’ll have new and responsible owners to take care of them. To those who are interested in adopting, just go to the Antipolo City Legal Office on the third floor of the City Hall Building.)

Since November, the city has had 100 stray dogs in the pound. ABS-CBN Teleradyo reported that animal rescue groups have been encouraging pet lovers to act and adopt these Antipolo doggos. And yes—there are no adoption fees.

Here are some FYIs when adopting the Antipolo doggos:

  • Offices open at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays
  • Bring valid IDs upon arriving
  • Sleeveless tops, shorts and slippers are not allowed in the City Hall office
  • Bring a cage or a pet carrier

Of course, we’re strong and firm believers in “adopt don’t shop.” True pet lovers and fur parents know this by heart. So if you or anyone in the Antipolo area would love to adopt a new furbaby, this is absolutely the time to do it.
