We closed Scout Campus Tours with a bang at UST

SHARE

It’s been a wild ride, gang. We dropped by four universities this year for Scout Campus Tours and our last stop was University of Santo Tomas (UST). In partnership with CFAD Touchpoint and supported by CFAD Student Council, we visited UST in the middle of CFAD Week and as expected, y’all Thomasians sure do know how to party. This school may be our last stop, but definitely not the least.

Though power wasn’t available for some time, a bunch of students dropped by our little set-up and entertained themselves through our usual board games we provided on our tables. Some guys were brave enough to try out the mega challenging giant Jenga that other students enjoyed so much at our previous campus tours. The SCOUT team members were also open for business for their portfolio consultation booth.

We’ve also got our awesome sponsors at the event–Pioneer Mighty Bond with their Scout Wall booth and Reef and Oakley selling some of their sweet merch.

Once the electricity came back up, students were ready to listen to an insightful talk given by SCOUT’s editor-in-chief, Lex Celera, who discussed what it was like working in the publishing industry as well as some tips on being a creative in this day and age. An open forum took place after Lex’s talk and attendees were given the opportunity to ask the SCOUT team some questions.

While waiting for the live music, visitors continued to play games like Twister, take photos at our Scout photobooth, and win some cool prizes through exciting raffle draws.

And finally, the bands were ready to start. The Cohens opened the program with their pop rock tunes (their drummer was even nice enough to give a shout out to SCOUT’s newest cover girl, Gabbi Garcia). Punk group Luncheon gave everyone a nostalgia trip with their sound reminiscent of 2000s punk rock and pop. And then of course, we had none other than our faves and Scout regulars Oh, Flamingo! to end the party.

And that’s it for this year’s Scout Campus Tours, folks! We had a blast visiting schools throughout the metro and we’ll be back in 2018 for more exciting events coming for ya’ll.

The #ScoutXUST Campus Tour 2017 wouldn’t be possible without our partner organizations, CFAD Touchpoint and CFAD Student Council; our partnered media organizations, Tomasinoweb, TOMCAT, UST Tiger Radio, and Fotomasino; our major sponsor, Pioneer Mighty Bond, and minor sponsors, Oakley, and Reef; and our media partners, Inquirer Super, When in Manila, Bandwagon PH, and Indie Manila.
