This local brand makes pants exciting again

SHARE

With the first ‘Ber’ month slowly waving us goodbye, the quarantine has practically kept most of us stuck indoors for more than six months. And while our anxiety is getting out of control, we look to different outlets in hopes of dispelling all the negative energy. For some, it’s retail therapy.

However, it’s safe to say that hunting for pants, both long and short, is hella underrated. I mean, we change pants as often as we buy an umbrella. We either buy one because they’re destroyed or they don’t fit our look anymore.

And we can’t blame ourselves because spotting a good pair takes a lot more than just regular window shopping trips. No cap, the complexity behind finding good pants is fascinating. While ‘um ok’ pieces end up in our rotation with no assurance of actual wear time, there are also ‘okay’ pieces that define what the rotation is. You feel me? I mean these ‘okay’ pants, in all honesty, last us a lot longer than we’d expect. And who are we to blame if they are so damn good, right? But what is the actual definition of good pants anyway?

Breaking down a good pair isn’t as easy as stating the alphabet. For the material savvy, checking fabrics is at the top of the list but for most people, the perfect pair lies in the fit. I personally roll with the latter because unlike tees we can easily layer to create our preferred silhouette, pants, for the most part, are what they already are. Take ‘em or leave ‘em. Unless we can sew, that is.

With all these in check, finding the needle in the haystack becomes a  slightly easier task. But with all the choices in the market, can we actually find it? I’m not sure, but there’s a local brand that’s paving the way in making the perfect pair.

Manila-based brand CLOUT recently dropped a collection of pieces that can make anyone cry with frustration. Why? Well, for starters, they’re all must-haves. The lineup features a unique mix of legwear that merges athleisure and streetwear. I’m not even sure if that makes sense or if it’s possible in the first place, but I’m just thankful it happened.

Apart from the bold color choices, the clothes are tailored to give a luscious take on iconic silhouettes without sacrificing comfort (buttoned cargos or stacked sweats, anyone?). I’m sure there’s no such thing as a perfect pair but good lord, this might just be the closest one yet.

With items ranging from P1,600 to P2,000, our next quarantine cop might just be the best yet. Peep their collection below:
