While we’re still reeling from the news of 88rising’s Filipino collective and taking guesses at who’s gracing the lineup, it seems that they’ve already beaten us to it. Paradise Rising is coming, and they have a resounding mixtape kitted out with some of our local faves.

In partnership with Globe, the Filipino collective will make its now-awaited debut with the five-track mixtape “semilucent” this month, which includes acts like Scout cover girl Kiana V, Jason Dhakal, Massiah, Fern. and Leila Alcasid.

“The Philippines and music go hand in hand, and there is such vibrancy in the way talented young artists are emerging, and such a massive audience in love with music,” says 88rising founder Sean Miyashiro. “We want to support their voices, help them be heard, and bring music from the Philippines to a global audience.”

Expect “semilucent” to hit streaming services on July 31. As for us, we’ll be here with our headphones ready.
