Pokemon masters, you can now play Pokémon Go at home

Everyone is on lockdown. From most of the workforce to young students, we are on quarantine until further notice. But hardcore Pokémon Go gamers don’t need to fret. As of now, they can play the game from the comfort of their own home.

On Mar. 13, Pokémon Go developers made critical changes that will allow fans from playing regardless of the pandemic. They decided to expand features and experiences in their game to make it possible for players to enjoy within the safety of their own homes.

According to Niantic (Pokémon Go developers), these changes are effective immediately and will be in place indefinitely. They also suspended their upcoming event called Abra Community Day. In this event, it will place users on the street and in close contact with each other. This pushed game developers to make changes, so it will be easier for folks to play at home.

These are the changes they applied to the event: A one-time purchase bundle of 30 Incense for 1 PokéCoin that will last for one hour, 1/2 Hatch Distance, PokéStops will drop gifts more frequently, there will be an increase in Pokémon habitats and more wild Pokémon appearing in the wild.

“The safety of our global player community is our top priority,” tweets Niantic through their account. At least, they’re trying to do their part to alleviate stress from the players across the globe.

Glad we can still follow our dreams to be the very best (that no one ever was) within the comfort of our own home.

Still from Pokémon Go
